Hello Kiddies,
On Monday in my Advertising History class we were graced with, among other thing, a special visitor. Our professor told us that the creator of the Pilsbury Doughboy was visiting our class. During our presentations a man of roughly 75 showed up, clutching a small red box, that looked quite aged. Art, our professor, introduced him as Carl. Carl explained he was once the Creative Director at Pillsbury and created the idea of the Doughboy. Apparently Carl and Leo Burnett were really good friends. As Carl told him story I could see that he still had that twinkle in his eye. He and Leo sketched out the Doughboy in a matter of an hour and came up with the phrase Poppin’ Fresh.

It was just really neat to see someone so passionate about advertising who had really been at the inception of the creative revolution. Also, to see one of the original doughboys, pictured above.
In other news, finals stink.
